 Winter is here (sort of)!  Here’s what’s happening at our Township Office…

 

  • Northfield Township has two openings on our Planning Commission (PC).  The PC advises Twp. officials in matters of planning and development, prepares plans, and makes recommendations for land-use and the environment.  PC members are recommended by the Supervisor and appointed by the Board of Trustees to serve 3 year terms.  PC members must live in Northfield Twp.  Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.   • March 8, 2016 is the Presidential Primary.  We need individuals to help at the polls as Election Inspectors.  We would like to have 6 individuals at each polling location to ensure a smooth and efficient election, and we need you!  Election Inspectors are responsible for making sure that voters are processed in a fair, efficient manner in accordance with Election Law.  Election Inspectors are required to work a full 16 hour day on Election Day, and attend training prior to working at the polls.  Elections Inspectors are paid for their time.  Contact the Clerk’s Office for details: 734-449-2880 ext. 14.

  • The Downtown Planning Group is looking for volunteers.  The main focus of this group will be to create a Downtown Master Plan, and develop projects and goals to create a unified vision for our downtown.  Submit letters of interest to the Twp Manager, Howard Fink AND DDA Chair, Barb Griffith.  Call 734-449-2880 for more information.

  • Design work for MDOT’s Active Traffic Management Project is expected to be completed by the end of this year, with construction beginning late 2016/ early 2017.  This will include widening of the shoulders on US-23, and ramp and bridge repairs/replacements throughout the Township.
